Microgreens FAQ Guide
Learn about Microgreens & their uses, storage, and harvesting techniques for optimal freshness.
What are Microgreens?

ANSWER: Microgreens are vegetables and herbs grown from seeds and harvested at the seedling stage & are rich in nutrients and antioxidants. Their nutrient content is concentrated, which means that they can often contain up to 40% more vitamins, minerals and antioxidants than their more mature or fully grown counterpart vegetables. It takes only a few small handfuls per day to benefit your nutrition.
They shouldn’t be confused with sprouts, which do not have leaves. Sprouts also have a much shorter growing cycle of 2-5 days, whereas microgreens are usually harvested 8–21 days after germination, once the plant’s first true leaves have emerged.
The Bottom Line, Microgreens offer a variety of beneficial compounds like sulforaphane, chlorophyll, anthocyanins, and B vitamins that could provide relief from bloating, inflammation, and can help reduce risk of Chronic Diseases. From these specialized nutrients to a general abundance of vitamins and phytonutrients, these minuscule greens are truly nutritional giants.

ANSWER: Store Microgreens in refrigerator and keep dry once harvested. Moisture is the enemy so if you see any moisture, simply wipe out the moisture in the container and close container lid. Most will stay fresh up to 10 days or more. Any locally grown crop will be fresher than those that are shipped to stores.
